Future Language Lab is a research project focused on designing instruction for AI-assisted L2 academic writing. The goal of this study is to empower students to become proficient users of GenAI, enabling them to effectively leverage AI tools for both second language acquisition and the development of academic writing skills. This is achieved through a comprehensive design that integrates insights from Second Language Acquisition (SLA), the cognitive science of writing, educational psychology, and Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL).
